The Box Awaits

The preparations for Christmas become the centre of attention for the Janz family in Latvia. Food packages are being prepared for delivery to needy families.
Meanwhile, back in Canada, the container that began its journey in Maple Ridge, B.C, now sits in Calgary, partially filled with Camp In A Box components.  It waits quietly no doubt braced against wind and snow over the long winter.  If the container could talk I am sure it would express the desire to be filled with items for the Camp In A Box mission.  With enough funding "Container" could continue its journey to a shipping port and land safely on a dock in Riga in the not too distant future.
Container knows that everything will suit God's plan so for now must sit quietly awaiting its next move.  Prayer can achieve many unimaginable goals.  More prayer could be the tipping point that will once again see Container on its way.
For now Container wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Peace and Joy for all those who celebrate the coming birth!

Christmas 2015- A Time To Bless

The life of Camp In A Box is a roadmap only God seems to know,. The last entry on this was made over a year ago.  Much has occurred since then.  The biggest event for Steve an Natalija and their boys has been the return to Latvia in the summer of 2015. Doors were not opened to provide a new camp set-up but doors did open for the family to return and  continue on their mission journey in this Eastern European country. The blessing of Canadian citizenship for Natalija also realized itself as part of a busy fall for the family.
As another Christmas approaches the mission to Latvia has many veins of pursuit to bring the Good News of Jesus to communities, families and individuals.  The English lessons powered by a team from Texas happened again this past summer.  Steve has broadened his contact with a number of youth camping missions in the country.  Even while in Canada a program to bring Christmas packages to needy was organized by Steve and Natalija.  Being there to help with this first hand, it is hoped  that support in Canada and the U.S. will be prolific and generous in blessing this seasonal project.

In 2016, pray for God to lead a resurgence in the programs that will see a literal rebirth of the Camp In A Box mission.  This could be invigorated with  short term mission help from church groups in Canada. The need for this type of approach to reach young people in Latvia is as great as ever. Let's pray for His blessing in this quest.

Meantime, the Janz's will spend a Christmas in Latvia for the first time in several years.  For their youngest son Josh it will be the  first.  May their celebration of the birth of the Son of Man help those around them see the blessing of taking a Saviour into their hearts.
